GAINESVILLE - Gainesville attorney Kelly Miles and Rev. Mike Freeman of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church will co-chair the chamber of commerce committee that will promote passage of the March 2nd SPLOST 5 referendum.

Emily Bagwell, chairman of the Government Affairs Division of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, made the announcement Thursday and says the committee - Hall Progress 2004 - is already hard at work.

"We've begun fund raising, we've begun arranging speaking engagements and promotional opportunities to get out and educate the voters of Hall County about the SPLOST program," Bagwell said.

Bagwell says it'll probably take about $35,000 to do the job - and that about $7,000 have already been raised.
