GAINESVILLE - The Chestatee boys basketball team looks to stay out of the bottom spot in Region 7-AAA North when it plays host to Gilmer.<br>

The War Eagles (2-14, 1-4) have lost six straight since beating Bobcats (1-17, 0-5) 56-51 earlier this month.<br>

Jesus Cantu has been playing outstanding for the War Eagles averaging more than 20 points a game over the last three games.<br>

In other Region 7-AAA North action, Pickens County will travel to Fannin County. The Dragons (8-12, 3-2) can pull into a tie for second in the subregion with a win over Fannin and a North Hall loss to White County.<br>

Johnson is off Friday night and does get back into subregion play again until Tuesday at rival West Hall.<br>

In other boys action around northeast Georgia, Lakeview Academy will try to get back into the win column in Region 8-A North against Tallulah Falls.<br>

Lakeview (11-6, 5-2) beat Tallulah Falls early in the season but is coming off a 53-37 loss to No. 5 Jefferson Tuesday night.<br>
<br>
The Lions need to win to keep pace with Towns County for second place in the subregion.<br>
<br>
Meanwhile, Jefferson travels to Athens Academy.<br>

In Region 8-AA, No. 14 Buford travels to Class AA No. 1 Wesleyan in a key region showdown.<br>
<br>
Lumpkin County will play host to Rabun County, Dawson County will travel to Banks County and Apalachee plays host to Greater Atlanta Christian.<br>

Union County and Providence are off in Region 8-AA Friday night.
