New report: High marks for Gainesville, Hall teachers

ATLANTA - A new state report paints Georgia teachers in a very positive light - and those in Gainesville and Hall County are about on par with others in the state.<br>

The state has released its lists of highly qualified teachers, another requirement of the federal No Child Left Behind law.<br>
<br>
It shows that, statewide, 94 percent of teachers are considered highly qualified.<br>
<br>
In the Gainesville City School System, 92 percent of teachers fall into that category; in the Hall County School System, 89 percent of teachers are classified as highly qualified. <br>
<br>
Among other school systems in northeast Georgia, Forsyth County had one of the highests ratios of highly qualified teachers - 98 percent.<br>
