HAMILTON, ONTARIO - Charles Howell the Third of Augusta has the lead after two rounds of the Canadian Open. <br>

Howell, who is seeking his second victory in three full seasons on the PGA Tour, shot a 68 Friday on the historic Hamilton Golf and Country Club course to take a one-stroke lead over Tom Byrum (69) and Japanese players Kenichi Kuboya (67) and Hidemichi Tanaka (70). <br>

Howell has a total of 5-under-par 135 going into Saturday's third round. <br>

Howell began play on the back nine with seven straight pars and got to four under with a birdie on the par-five 17th. He dropped a stroke on Number Three, but rebounded with a two-putt birdie on the par-five fourth and reached five under with a 20-foot birdie putt on Number Seven.
