FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS - Arkansas running back Cedric Cobbs set career highs with 36 carries and 198 yards in the two-overtime win over Alabama on Saturday and the Southeastern Conference has honored him for that performance. <br>

Cobbs has been named the offensive player of the week for the second time this season following the 34-31 win. He was also the SEC's top offensive player after gaining 145 yards Sept. 6 against Tulsa. <br>

The Alabama game ranks as the 10th-best individual rushing total in Arkansas history. Cobbs has rushed for 100 yards or more in each of the Razorbacks' first four games of the season and he has eight career 100-yard rushing games. <br>

``Cedric continues to play the best football of his college career,'' Arkansas coach Houston Nutt said. ``He is running hard and has taken advantage of the outstanding blocking by our offensive line.'' <br>

Cobbs leads the SEC and ranks third in the nation with an average of 140.5 rushing yards per game. He is also the SEC's active career rushing leader with 2,259 yards and touchdowns with 23. His rushing total ranks seventh on the Arkansas career list. <br>

Florida cornerback Johnny Lamar was named the defensive player of the week after his interception set up the Gators' go-ahead touchdown against Kentucky. Tennessee punter Dustin Colquitt earned the league's special teams player of the week.
