Farley leads Georgia Open in suspended first round

ROSWELL - Brandon Farley, an amateur from Ansley Golf Club, shot a 5-under-par 67 Thursday to take a three-stroke lead in the 50th Georgia Open's first round, which was suspended after two weather delays. <br>

Thirty-nine of the 144 golfers were still on the course at Ansley's Settindown Creek course in Roswell. They were to resume at 8:30 a.m. Friday to finish the first round. <br>

Two-time Georgia Open champion Dave Schreyer of Canongate at White Oak in Peachtree City, The Landings Club's Kris Blanks and mini-tour player Shawn Hodge of Houston Lake Country Club were tied for second at 2-under 70. <br>
<br>
The field will be cut to the low 60 and ties after the second round. The low professional in the tournament will win $10,000.
