Carjack suspects arrested near Flowery Branch

FLOWERY BRANCH - Three Gwinnett County carjack suspects were arrested near Flowery Branch early Saturday.

Capt. Ed Barfield of the Hall County Sheriff's Department says deputy Chris Raines spotted the car about 6:15 on Atlanta Highway. A lookout had been broadcast for the car about 2:00 Saturday morning.

The lookout said the vehicle had been taken by three people in a carjacking on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

Raines stopped the car on Thurman Tanner Road with the assitance of an officer from the Flowery Branch Police Department, according to Capt. Barfield.

Barfield says one of the suspects tried to flee on foot but was quickly captured.

Their names and charges against them as well as the circumstances surrounding the alleged carjacking were not immediately available.
