Bank robbery suspect did not try to flee

COMMERCE - Sheriff investigators says a suspected bank robber in Commerce apparently wanted to get caught.

Sheriff Charles Chapman says the man robbed the Regions Bank Thursday morning but made no attempt to get away.

"He actually told the teller inside the bank that he was gonna be waiting outside the bank. And he was." Chapman says.

Chapman Jack Blackburn, 49, lived in a weekly hotel near Banks Crossing.

"Apparently he is a transient person, he probably doesn't have a home." Chapman adds.

Blackburn was recently let out of the Banks County jail and is now back there.
