Georgia Tech makes fourth appearance in Pre-Season NIT

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech will warm up for its Atlantic Coast Conference schedule with its fourth appearance in the Pre-Season National Invitation Tournament, a road trip to Ohio State and a home game against 2003 NIT champion St. John's. <br>

The Yellow Jackets also will play state rival Georgia in Athens on January 3 before opening ACC play at North Carolina January 11th, according to the schedule announced Wednesday. <br>

Tech, entering its fourth season under coach Paul Hewitt, is coming off a 16-15 season in which it advanced to the quarterfinals of the post-season NIT and finished fifth in the ACC regular season. <br>

Four starters return, including third-team all-ACC guard B.J. Elder and senior guard Marvin Lewis. <br>
<br>
Tech begins the regular season at home November 18 against Louisiana-Lafayette in the first round of the Pre-Season NIT. It is the Yellow Jackets' first appearance in the event since 1995.
