Gainesville golfer says U.S. Amateur rough is 'really tough'

OAKMONT, PENNSYLVANIA - A Gainesville golfer advanced Wednesday to the second round of the 103rd U.S. Amateur Championship in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.<br> <br> Stuart Moore beat Nicholas Thompson of Coral Springs, Florida, 4-and-3.<br> <br> &#34;The rough&#39;s really tough, so, if you can&#39;t get it in the fairway, then you really don&#39;t have a good chance to make par,&#34; Moore said. &#34;(My) driver&#39;s really been good this week.&#34;<br> <br> Moore will tee off Thursday at 8:05 in the second round of the tournament, playing in a twosome with Adam Rubinson of Fort Worth, Texas.<br> <br> &#34;I&#39;ll have to play really good to keep winning,&#34; Moore said.<br> <br> Moore is the son of Steve and Cahty Moore of Gainesville.
