TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMA - Alabama reserve tailback Nic Luke has rejoined the team after considering a transfer.
The redshirt freshman had contemplated transferring to Division II Tuskegee but Alabama would not grant him a release from his scholarship.
``It was something they had to do,'' said Luke, whose older brother, Triandos, is a Crimson Tide receiver. ``It may have been God's way of showing that I needed to be here. I prayed a lot about this decision and God told me to come back.''
Luke practiced with the team on Thursday.
Former Tide offensive lineman Grant Dickey was also not given his release, but chose to play at Tyler (Texas) Community College this season.
Luke said he was ``not disappointed'' by the administration's decision.
