Georgian still alive at Publinx tourney

GALLOWAY, N.J. - Luke List of Ringgold, Georgia, has survived to make the quarterfinals of the U.S. Golf Association's Men's Amateur Publinx. List - who is to play next year at Vanderbilt - defeated Jeff Gilchrist of Sacramento, California, 5 and 4 in Thursday's second round of match play, then beat Jason Harris of Clemmons, North Carolina, 1-up in the third round. The Publinx - played at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in New Jersey - is a tournament limited to amateurs who do not have playing privileges on a private course. The 36-hole final will be Saturday.
