Back-to-school nears

UNDATED - Summer vacation will end later this week for students in at least two Gainesville area school system.

Barrow County and Jefferson are where the doors will open this week. Classes there are scheduled to resume Friday - the earliest of any systems in the area.

Most systems will open next Friday, including Gainesville and Hall County, Commerce City, and Habersham, White, Dawson, and Banks counties.

Jackson County schools begin next Wednesday; Buford City next Thursday, Forsyth and Gwinnett counties August 11, and Lumpkin County, August 18.
