Georgia high schooler qualifies for U.S. Open

ROSWELL - Luke List surprised the field by leading the qualifying in U.S. Open sectionals, and no one was more surprised than the 18-year-old from Ringgold, Ga. <br> <br> ``It hasn&#39;t sunk in yet,&#39;&#39; List said Tuesday after scoring a pair of 68s to finish at 8-under-par 136 for 36 holes. ``It&#39;s going to be fun, that&#39;s all I can tell you.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> List, who plans to play at Vanderbilt, finished one stroke ahead of PGA Tour pro Billy Andrade, the other Open qualifier at Ansley Golf Club&#39;s Settindown Creek course north of Atlanta. <br> <br> Andrade shot a 68 and 69 to join List ahead of the field of 40 others vying for the Open field at Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois June 12-15. <br> <br> Four others, Kevin Durkin of Dunwoody, Ga. (72-68-140); Roger Rowland of Ocala, Fla. (67-74-141); Brandt Snedeker of Nashville, Tenn. (70-71-141), and David Dyer of Springdale, Ark. (72-70-142) are alternates. <br> <br> Thunderstorms threatened all day. <br> <br> ``I didn&#39;t take my rain pants off until the last hole. I think I lost 10 pounds,&#39;&#39; said the 38-year-old Andrade, who qualified for his 11th U.S. Open.
