Class AAAAA state baseball championship goes to Colquitt County

MOULTRIE - Colquitt County has won its first state baseball title since 1997 with a 6-3 victory over East Coweta.<br>

Thomas Tripp pitched a complete-game, four-hitter Tuesday in the decisive game of the Class AAAAA championship series.<br>
<br>
Tripp also singled in the go-ahead run with a bases-loaded hit in the sixth inning that broke a 1-1 tie and started a four-run rally.<br>
<br>
The Packers (30-9), who won the AAAA title in 1997, had used a two-man rotation most of the season. But starters Aaron Eubanks and Cody Green both pitched Monday, so Tripp got the start.
