It's probably because I come from the journalism world, but I have always been intrigued by various politicians and the way they handle the press. For years I thought the Kennedys had the most effective media melations group, and they did. And then when Bill Clinton ran for president, and his press relations people successfully handled the first "Bimbo eruption", it became obvious we had another politician who could ... as the term became known ... "spin" the media. Well, the Clinton magic still holds, only this time it is Hillary Clinton.
Hillary has chosen this particular time to release a book, her book, and in it she supposedly bares all about her reaction when she learned Bill had lied to her about the Monica Lewinski affair. There must be other things in that book (there are 600 pages and
advance copies were NOT provided to the media), but the spin says her husband, the president, may have been a lout, but she chose to stand by her man. The spin insists Hillary was a victim ... a trusting but mistreated wife who kept the family together because of their daughter. And the spin tosses in another little tidbit that is getting play in the media, and that is that Hillary is currently doing a great job as a Senator.
The interesting thing is that the media is buying the Clinton spin ... hook, line and sinker. And that was before they had even read the book. For good or bad, give the Clintons credit: their political spin team is better at manipulating the media than anybody else in the business
