Little sentenced for hitting former roommate at Cincinnati

CINCINNATI - Former University of Cincinnati basketball player Donald Little was sentenced Tuesday to 30 days in jail.<br> <br> The 25-year-old athlete admitted having punched his former roommate last year, for which Little was kicked off the team.<br> <br> Little was also sentenced in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court to five years of probation. <br> <br> Judge Thomas Crush said he thought jail time was warranted, because Little has previously been convicted of disorderly conduct.<br> <br> He admitted that he punched roommate Justin Hodge in the face in April of last year. <br> <br> Police said Little falsely believed then that the roommate had stolen $2,500 from Little.<br> <br> The center from Augusta, Georgia, later played professional basketball in Turkey.<br> <br> His lawyer said Tuesday that Little&#39;s jail sentence could hurt his chances of being selected on Thursday in the National Basketball Association&#39;s draft.
