NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - It's official. Southeastern Conference faculty representatives have agreed to endorse the current academic reforms for college athletics.
Representatives from all 12 league schools have spent the past two days at Vanderbilt University discussing the proposed reforms and how they can be involved.

They heard from the SEC commissioner and the NCAA's president on reforms already passed. They also were briefed on the current push to punish or reward schools on how they graduate students.
Vanderbilt professor Virginia Shepherd says it was nearly unanimous to support the reforms and urge presidents to involve their faculties in the movement.
That's not all. They also have several suggestions for the NCAA and SEC that include looking at how scheduling impacts students and academic performance.
