Freshman left fielder Michael Campbell the sealed the win for the Gamecocks (30-17, 11-11 Southeastern Conference), crashing into the wall on a leaping catch that saved a run from scoring and ended the game. <br>

South Carolina led 4-1 after two innings, but the Wildcats (19-26, 6-15) tied it in the fourth on a solo home run by Caleb Stewart and a two-run homer by Aaron Edwards that also scored Brad Pickrell, who had four hits. <br>

Reliever Chris Hernandez (3-4) allowed no runs and three hits over the final three innings to get the win for South Carolina. <br>

Kentucky starter Scott Wade (2-6) pitched six innings, allowing 10 hits and five runs to pick up the loss.
