CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - Two Clemson linebackers are academically ineligible to play next season, the university says.
Coach Tommy Bowden said he was hopeful Kelvin Morris and Brandon Jamison would return to the team for the 2004 season.
``They'll have the opportunity to return to school, get their work done and earn their degrees,'' Bowden said. ``We would love to have them back in the program.''
Both players transferred from Southwest Mississippi Junior College.
Morris had 48 tackles last season as a backup at the rover position. His status for next season was already uncertain because of a knee injury.
Jamison, who played in every game last season, had 48 tackles.
