HOOVER, ALABAMA - Chad Sterbens singled with two outs in the 11th inning to drive in Charlie Waite and lift Mississippi to an 8-7 victory over Arkansas Friday in the Southeastern Conference tournament. <br>

The Rebels (34-24), who had their second straight extra-inning game in the tournament, meet the LSU-Mississippi State loser in a second elimination game on Saturday. <br>

Sterber's game-winner came after Seth Smith singled to score Jonathan Swearingen for the tying run. Pinch-hitter Barry Gunther had reached on a two-base error by first baseman Haas Pratt to open the inning <br>

Arkansas (34-20) had taken a 7-6 lead on Andrew Wishy's RBI single in top of the 11th. <br>

Swearingen scored three times, while Smith, Sterbens and Stephen Head each drove in a pair of runs. <br>

Brian Pettway (1-0), who started the game at third base for Ole Miss, got the final out in his second mound appearance of the season. <br>

Nick Pitts was 5-for-6 to lead Arkansas, while Wishy homered and drove in three runs. <br>

The Rebels were sent into the losers bracket by Mississippi State freshman Thomas Berkery's walk-off home run in the bottom of the 12th Thursday night.
