Kennesaw State faces elmination in Div. II baseball

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA - Kennesaw State will play Grand Valley State of Michigan Wednesday night as it tries to stay alive in the NCAA Division II baseball playoffs. <br> <br> The Owls lost to Tampa 6-0 Tuesday night in the double elimination tournament in Montgomery, Alabama.<br> <br> Joey Watts and Josh Weis combined on a two-hit shutout to lead Tampa to the win. <br> <br> Watts (7-5) gave up the only two hits while striking out nine in 7 2/3 innings. Weis finished the game with 1 1/3 innings of perfect relief. <br> <br> Tampa (44-17) will play the Franklin Pierce-UC Davis winner on Thursday. <br> <br> Tampa wasted little time Tuesday, jumping on Owls starter Kevin Poole in the first inning with two runs on five hits. <br> <br> Billy Wimberly and Gene Reynolds added RBI doubles in the second and sixth respectively and Tim Duff capped the scoring with a two-run homer in the seventh. <br> <br> Poole lasted just 1 2/3 innings to get the loss (6-3). He allowed three runs on seven hits.
