COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - When the PGA Tour's rookie of the year walks up to the first tee at the Masters he says he'll only be thinking about winning the tournament.
But family and friends of Jonathan Byrd, a Columbia native who quickly became a star by winning the Buick Challenge last year, will savor the moment.

Then they'll grimace and grin with each stroke as the 25-year-old tries to win the green jacket.
Byrd says he's dreamed of playing at the Masters ever since he was a young boy.
Byrd started playing golf when he was three years old. He and his older brother followed their father to a field behind the family's house to hit balls.
