Former Berkmar coach going to Riverdale

Longtime high school basketball coach David Boyd, who resigned at Berkmar last fall, was named coach at Riverdale.<br> <br> Boyd replaces Ken Ross, who is retiring after 39 years. Boyd has a record of 450-132 in 21 seasons and has won four state championships. <br> <br> The 49-year-old Boyd led Berkmar to state titles in 2000 and 2001, then resigned October 11, 2002, for what he called personal reasons. His resignation was accepted the same day the Georgia Professional Standards Commission voted to investigate a complaint against him for a breach of the teachers&#39; code of ethics.<br> <br> The board concluded that Boyd was ``involved in an appropriate relationship with a co-worker and that the relationship occurred during school hours.&#39;&#39; He was suspended for five months, and his suspension ends July 28.<br> <br> The 64-year-old Ross coached for 14 years at Riverdale.
