ATHENS - University of Georgia sports radio broadcaster Jeff Dantzler has been relieved of some duties after asking female students what color underwear they were wearing during an interview.
The general manager of Southern Broadcasting Companies Incorporated, Traci Long, said Dantzler will no longer host a weekday show on WRFC-AM in Athens, or the ``Fifth Quarter'' post-game call-in show after football games.
Dantzler was relieved of those duties March fifth.
He will still broadcast baseball and men's and women's basketball games on the station because he is an employee of the university, which selects the announcers.
Dantzler made the remarks during his afternoon show before a Georgia baseball game February 14. He was speaking with three ``Diamond Darlings,'' female students who serve as ushers and work at souvenir stands.
During the interview, one student told Dantzler she was wearing only red and black -- the school's colors. He then asked her what color underwear she and the other two were wearing.
