Kelly and Bengals agree to contract

CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Bengals and free-agent tight end Reggie Kelly have agreed in principle to a four-year contract.

The team made the report on its web site Wednesday without disclosing terms.

ESPN.com reported the deal was for $6.8 million over four years with a two million dollar signing bonus.

The 26-year-old Kelly caught 14 passes for 162 yards last season, his fourth with the Atlanta Falcons. He was drafted in the second round out of Mississippi State in 1999.

The tight end position has been one of the bigger problems for the Bengals' offense. Last year, Matt Schobel and Sean Brewer split duties at the position before Brewer got hurt and missed most of the season. Schobel had 27 catches for 212 yards and two touchdowns.
