Sexual assault suspect stabbed by victim

GAINESVILLE - One person was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center early Monday after the woman he reportedly attempted to sexually assault stabbed him.

Lt. Stan Kimbrell of the Gainesville Police Department said the incident happened about 3 a.m. on Mill Street.

Lt. Kimbrell said the supsect was found in the area about 15 minutes after officers arrived; and that his stab wounds are not believed life-threatenting.

Police said the suspect and would-be victim knew each other.
