WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA - Skip Prosser had dreams of being a high school history teacher.<br>

His career path was altered in 1972 when he took over a ninth-grade basketball team in Wheeling, West Virginia. That decision has paid dividends. Today, Prosser is The Associated Press Atlantic Coast Conference coach of the year.<br>

He collected all 92 votes cast by members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.<br>

Prosser took the Demon Deacons to their first outright regular-season ACC title since 1962. Prosser is 45-18 in his two seasons at Wake Forest, taking the Demon Deacons to two straight NCAA tournaments.
