ATLANTA - The Atlanta Braves have placed pitcher Mike Hampton on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right calf. <br>

The Braves gave no indication what caused the injury or the severity. Hampton was traded to Atlanta during the winter as part of a three-team deal. He pitched poorly with the Colorado Rockies during the last two seasons, going 7-15 with a 6.15 ERA last year.
