The Gamecocks (18-9, 3-5 Southeastern Conference) needed three late-inning homers after trailing 7-3 to the Commodores (13-12, 2-6) in the eighth inning. <br>

Justin Harris's three-run homer in the eighth inning cut the lead to 7-6 and freshman Steve Tolleson led off the ninth inning with his first career homer to send the game into extra innings. <br>

Chris Hernandez (2-1) pitched more than four innings allowing just two hits and one earned run to get the win for the Gamecocks. <br>

Jensen Lewis (2-4) gave up six earned runs to get the loss.
