ATLANTA - A judge extended a restraining order Monday that keeps a BellSouth Corporation executive from accepting the top post at rival Sprint Corporation.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Manis issued a written ruling that says BellSouth vice chairman Gary D. Forsee's contract keeps him from divulging ``intellectual capital'' -- including company pricing plans and merger and acquisition information.

Manis' ruling acknowledges that Forsee was privy to sensitive and high-level information that could hurt BellSouth if he moved to a competitor.

The case is to be heard in arbitration over the next 30 days.

Attorneys for Forsee did not immediately return calls.

Sprint and BellSouth sell long-distance service in nine Southeastern states and compete nationally for wireless customers.
