Blaney on pole, Elliott fifth for Subway 400

ROCKINGHAM, NORTH CAROLINA - Dave Blaney ran a lap of 154.683 mph to capture the pole position for Sunday's Subway 400 NASCAR race at North Carolina Speedway.

Johnny Benson, last fall's winner at the track, was second quickest at 154.553 mph.

Starting third will be Mike Martin, 154.429 and starting in the fourth spot will be Sterling Marlin, 154.422.

Dawsonville's Bill Elliott qualified fifth with a speed of 154.416.
