Man charged with beating Columbus State basketball player

COLUMBUS - A Columbus man has been arrested and charged with severely beating a Columbus State University basketball player outside a nightclub February 21. <br>

Twenty-one-year-old Jericho Williams surrendered to police yesterday and was charged with aggravated battery. <br>
<br>
Cedric Howell, a 22-year-old senior at Columbus State, was recently released from the hospital after facial and oral surgery. <br>
<br>
Police say Howell was trying to break up a fight outside the F&W Control Tower when he was attacked by ten 15 men. Witnesses said the men beat Howell with fists, feet and glass bottles. <br>
<br>
Williams is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. Police said the incident is still under investigation.
