Fatal Habersham shooting apparently accidental

By by Ken Stanford
CLARKESVILLE - A Habersham County man whose body was found on his property Sunday apparently died of an accidental gunshot wound.

Coroner David Wall says 38-year-old John Frank Loudermilk of the Mud Creek community died of a gunshot wound to the head which he apparently suffered as he climbed over a gate while carrying an handgun.

Wall says he was told it was not unsual for Loudermilk to carry the gun with him when he walked around his property.

He says Loudermilk's body was found about 6:00 Sunday evening by a friend who went looking for him after his wife became concerned when he didn't return home.
