DULUTH - Kevin Thomas scored 24 points and Georgia State held Jason Parker to 17 points in a 72-67 victory over Tulsa Monday night.<br>

It was the first college basketball game at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in suburban Atlanta.<br>

The Panthers (2-1) used a 10-0 run early in the second half to take control, then scored eight straight points late to hold off the Golden Hurricane (2-2).<br>

Parker, the leading scorer for Tulsa, came in averaging 20 points. His total in this one tied his season low, set last Saturday against TCU. Teammates Jarius Glenn and Anthony Price had 16 apiece.<br>

Georgia State was without leading scorer Nate Williams, who was suspended until Dec. 20 for a violation of team rules. Guard Lamont McIntosh didn't start because of a sprained ankle and played only five minutes.
