Six Lady Trojans named to All-State softball team

Fresh off their Class AAA runner-up showing, the North Hall girls softball team received more accolades Monday.

Six Lady Trojans were selected to the GACA Coaches Choice All-State Awards, four to the first team.

The Lady Trojans, who finished 31-6, set a school-record in wins and the second place showing is the best ever in school history for a North Hall team.

Amber Belton, Hailey Bower, Emily Romine and Kristi Underwood were all named to the first team for North Hall.

Rival pitcher Whitney Propes of Pickens County was also named to the first team and was named Class AAA Player of the Year.

The Lady Trojans' Erica Howser and Brooke Smith were named to the second team.

Carrie Brookshire of Chestatee was named an Honorable Mention.

The Flowery Branch and Chestatee teams also advanced to the state playoffs.
