Region 7-AAA state's best? Polls say 'yes'

GAINESVILLE - What's the best basketball region in the state?

In Class AAA there's no contest: Region 7-AAA.

The region, with the release Monday of the latest gabasketball.net poll, has four teams in the Top 10 in the boys rankings while four girls teams are in the top 11.

In the boys, East Hall climbed back into the No. 1 slot on the strength of four straight wins.

Gainesville climbed one spot into a tie with Hart County at No. 4 while White County remained at No. 7.

Johnson is ranked 10th.

In the girls, the Lady Red Elephants are still No. 1 and have won four straight. The Johnson girls are fifth with Flowery Branch seventh.

Fannin County is 11th in the lastest poll.

No other region in the state has four teams in the Top 10 or 11 in any classificiation.
