Argument results in shooting at Melrose Apartments

GAINESVILLE - An incident at Melrose Apartments in Gainesville overnight left a juvenile with a gunshot wound to one leg.

Gainesville Police Lt. Chad White said the youngster, whose name is not being released, was treated at the medical center and released.

Lt. White says the suspect, an Hispanic male about 5-foot-5 and weighing 120 pounds, remains at large.

White says the shooting - which occurred about 11:40 last night - was apparently the result of an argument between the two.

The shooting is still under investigation by the Gainesville Police Department.
