Actor Robert Englund treated and released from Columbus hospital

<p>Actor Robert Englund, best known for his portrayal of Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street film series, was treated and released from a Columbus hospital, hospital officials said Monday.</p><p>Englund, the star of the movie 2001 Maniacs that is being filmed at Westville Village in Stewart County, was treated at the St. Francis Hospital emergency room and released Monday, said spokeswoman Judy Walsh.</p><p>The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reported Tuesday that Englund had been involved in an all-night filming session at Westville on Sunday and later went to the hospital after experiencing pain when he woke up in his motel room.</p><p>Englund plays the lead villain in 2001 Maniacs, which is a remake of the 1964 horror film 2000 Maniacs.</p><p>Film crews began work on the new film earlier this month after Rebel Scream Films relocated its sets from California to west Georgia.
