N. Alabama whips W.Georgia

CARROLLTON - Anthony Merritt scored on a 91-yard punt return and Evan Oglesby returned an interception 20 yards for another score in North Alabama&#39;s 48-21 victory over West Georgia on Saturday night.<br> <br> Will Hall accounted for three touchdowns for the unbeaten Lions (10-0, 8-0 Gulf South Conference), who overcame an early 7-0 deficit to build a 24-7 lead.<br> <br> Hall completed 16 of 21 passes for 190 yards, including scoring passes of 9 yards to Ches Dye and 36 yards to Chip Long. Hall added 36 yards on the ground, including a 15-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.<br> <br> North Alabama&#39;s other scoring came on a 2-yard run by DeMarcus Blount in the first quarter and field goals of 43 and 20 yards by Travis Johnson.<br> <br> West Georgia (3-7, 2-6) opened the scoring on Brandon Glover&#39;s 3-yard run less than five minutes into the game. Glover, who ran for 114 yards on 20 carries, also scored on a 2-yard run in the third period.<br> <br> Michael Alexis, who had 119 yards on 12 attempts, scored the other touchdown for the Braves on a 31-yard fourth-quarter run.
