RALEIGH, N.C. - Darius Wade scored 24 points and Ronald Thompson grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Morehouse to a 87-69 win over Shaw in non-conference action Thursday night.<br>

Wade scored 16 of his points in the second half. Other Maroon Tigers (1-0) scoring double digits were Brandon Childs with 15 points and Jason Patterson with 12.<br>

Morehouse, winner of the 2003 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament, shot 50 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point range.<br>

The Bears shot 35.8 percent from the field and netted 38.1 percent from 3-point range.<br>

The Bears (0-3), down 32-29 with 5:28 to play in the first half, went on a 17-4 run to take a 46-36 halftime lead.<br>

Morehouse tied the score at 56-56 on a 14-2 run with 13:56 remaining in the second half.<br>
<br>
Shaw had 28 turnovers on the night and made just eight of 33 shots from the field in the second half.
