Hall commission comments on Cole allegations

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commissioners Wednesday said they found "differences in perceptions of events and occurrences" in looking into the allegations filed by a subdivision developer against commissioner Roger Cole last week.

The board released a three-sentence statement dealing with an executive session on the matter which it conducted Monday.

According to the statement, commissioners also discussed procedures for handling such matters in an effort to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.

Subdivision developer Kent Henderson alleges that on September 15, Cole appeared at a construction site off Price Road and harassed some of his workers - declaring that there were environmental code violations at the site. Henderson contends that everything was in order and that Cole was out of order.

Henderson wrote a letter to the full commission outlining his complaints. The
letter called Cole's behavior threatening and requested an investigation.

Cole said last week "The allegations are an outrage. The complaint is filled with errors of fact, distortions and things taken out of context."

FOLLOWING IS A FULL TEXT OF THE STATEMENT ISSUE WEDNESDAY BY THE COMMISSION:
