HELEN - Two more pieces of land along the headwaters of the Chattahoochee River near Helen have been saved from development by a national conservation group.
The Trust for Public Land has paid nearly two million dollars for a 57-acre tract and a 38-acre site.
The first is just downstream from the Hardman Farm, which the state purchased last year in a move to save it from development. The second is about two miles upstream from Helen.
Both parcels will be added to land already bought as the state seeks to establish a 180-mile greenway along the Chattahoochee from Helen to Columbus.
