Gainesville still No. 2 in AAA; Buford tops AA poll

ATLANTA - The Gainesville High football team remained No. 2 in the latest Associated Press Class AAA poll. The Red Elephants (5-0, 5-0 in Region 7-AAA) remain behind Screven County, last year's Class AAA champions who knocked Gainesville out of the playoffs last year. North Hall, which was 10th last week, fell out of the Class AAA poll but still received 6 votes. Stephens County climbed into 10th with 9 votes. Meanwhile, Buford still topped the Class AA poll over Early County. In Class AAAAA, South Gwinnett may have won the game and pulled off the second major Class AAAAA upset of the season with a 15-14 win over top-ranked Brookwood last week. But Camden County won the hearts of the voters in this week's Associated Press high school football poll. Hovering at No. 2 all year, Camden County (5-0) clearly found favor with prep writers as 13 of 17 ranked the school No. 1.
