ATLANTA - Atlanta forward Obinna Ekezie will be out indefinitely after tearing a ligament in his right knee. An MRI Friday showed that Ekezie tore his anterior cruciate ligament.

Ekezie, who was invited to the Hawks' camp as a free agent, averaged eleven-point-eight points in four exhibition games, third-best on the team. He was injured in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's preseason game against the Miami Heat. He fell awkwardly going for a rebound and didn't return.

Forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Atlanta's leading scorer last season, is expected to play in Memphis Saturday night. Abdur-Rahim had back surgery in July.
