West Georgia wins in OT

CARROLLTON - Trevor Ramos kicked a 28-yard field goal in overtime Saturday to give West Georgia a 38-35 victory over West Alabama.<br> <br> The Tigers (3-4, 2-3 Gulf South Conference) forced the overtime period when Brett Gilliland hit Bakari Bryant on a 16-yard scoring pass with 1:18 to play, and Tonya Butler, thought to be the first woman to kick a field goal in a college game, added the tying extra point her fifth of the game.<br> <br> Lucas McMichen passed for 237 yards and two touchdowns for the winning Braves (3-4, 2-3), with both scoring strikes going to Michael Alexis covering 22 and 39 yards. Alexis also scored on a 13-yard run.<br> <br> West Georgia&#39;s other scoring came on a 1-yard run by Ryan Davis and a 7-yard run by Brandon Glover, who had 154 yards on 31 attempts.<br> <br> Brett Gilliland completed 25 of 45 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns for West Georgia. His scoring passes were 17 yards to Laramie Cook, 80 yards to Jerin Wright and the late 16-yarder to Bryant. Gilliland also scored on a 3-yard run and the other Tiger score came on Derick Spellers&#39; 15-yard run.
