BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA - After the LSU offensive line turned in one of its best performances of the season it took one of its biggest blows.

Starting guard Nate Livings will miss four to six weeks with a knee injury, coach Nick Saban said.

Livings was injured in the second quarter of LSU's 33-7 victory over South Carolina. Doctors at first feared he had serious damage to a knee ligament injury and would need major surgery.

That may not be the case, Saban said.

Livings injury is still significant and he may also have some minor cartilage damage, Saban said.

The latter would require minor arthroscopic surgery, which Saban said would also give doctors a better look at the ligament.

``We won't know for sure until they do the scope, but it's probably going to be in the four-to-six-week range,'' Saban said. ``When they scope it, they can be a little more specific.''

Saban's timetable would mean Livings wouldn't be back until at least the final regular season game against Arkansas.

Livings will be replaced by Terrell McGill at times and possibly Rudy Niswanger at others. Both have seen considerable playing time this season.

McGill also sprained an ankle late in Saturday's game and missed practice Monday. But Saban expects him to be fine by Saturday's game with Auburn.

Running back Joseph Addai will miss at least another week and backup Shyrone Carey is still doubtful for this week's game.

Carey, however, will begin practicing this week with no contact.

``How he practices this week will determine if he can play,'' Saban said.
Wide receiver Devery Henderson suffered a hip pointer and missed Monday's workout, but should also be fine by Saturday.
