PHILADELPHIA - Former Falcon Mark Simoneau has proven himself with the Philadelphia Eagles, who play in Atlanta on Sunday. <br>

Simoneau is in his first season as Philadelphia's starting middle linebacker. He earned the NFC's defensive player of the month award for October. The six-foot, 234-pound Simoneau has become an integral part of the Eagles' defense. He has a team-high 65 tackles and is tied for second with two sacks. He had 45 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in four games this month. <br>

His biggest play came in Philadelphia's 14-to-10 comeback victory over the New York Giants on October 19th. Philadelphia was losing 10-to-7 and facing a third and goal situation with eight minutes left. That's when Simoneau sacked Kerry Collins at the Eagles' five, forcing a fumble.
