Suspect in killing of Aiken teen brought to South Carolina

AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA - The Georgia inmate charged with killing a teen more than two years ago has been brought to South Carolina. <br> <br> Robert Franklin Atkins, 31, was charged with murdering 17-year-old Jessica Carpenter after a DNA sample he was required to submit after being charged with violating parole matched genetic material found at the scene of the crime. <br> <br> Atkins had been at the Georgia State Prison in Reidsville, Ga., before authorities took him to the Aiken County Detention Center on Wednesday, authorities said. <br> <br> Carpenter was found strangled to death in her home in August 2000, police said. <br> <br> Investigators think Atkins met Carpenter while working for a package delivery company while out on parole.
