Trucking company in crash had troubled safety record

NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT - Federal data shows the flatbed trailer that jackknifed last week on Interstate 95, leading to the death of four Yale students, is part of a fleet with a deficient safety rating. <br> <br> Nineteen-year-old Kyle Burnat of Atlanta was one of those killed. <br> <br> The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration says Arrow Trucking Company has had more accidents than about 79 percent of other trucking companies who reported data. <br> <br> The agency, which enforces safety regulations on commercial vehicles, says it will probably investigate the company for safety compliance. <br> <br> Arrow Trucking, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, operates almost 1,300 vehicles and has about 1,200. <br> <br> A company spokesman could not be reached for comment Thursday. A telephone message was left at his office. <br> <br> The crash happened early Friday morning involved an Arrow Trucking rig that crashed through the median. An SUV carrying nine Yale students hit the flatbed trailer, killing four and injuring five.
